At 106, Antonio Nieves Ferreiro, “Narote”, was the last survivor of the most significant episode of violence of Spain’s Second Republic, the Asturias Revolution of 1934. Sentenced and persecuted for refusing to load bombs onto the planes about to bomb the city of Oviedo, his story of repression, clandestine life, imprisonment and exile is an oral testimony of great historical and human value.
